This wafer-thin foil helps to determine the exact ignition time.

Application: The foil is clamped between the breaker contacts through the slots in the flywheel. Now turn in the direction of engine rotation and pull lightly on the foil at the same time. As soon as the breaker starts to open slightly, the foil is automatically pulled out. This moment, when the breaker starts to open, is the ignition time.
